Left Consolidation Committee (contd - 1)

Subhas Chandra , during his visit in Europe (1933-1936), was invited to address the third Indian Political Conference in London on 10th June 1933. He was not allowed to go to England though he possessed British Pass Port. He sent his lecture  in the first week  of June to the conference where it was read out.
He wrote a long lecture note which included ;
1. A review of the history of Political economy of India since 1920,
2. A 'scientific plan of action and a scientific programme for the future' - using terms like ' objective  and subjective factors' which rang of Marxist terminology,
3. The concept of non-violent revolution against the British  based on civil-disobedience in the wider sense of terms  - as a methods of active resistance . If necessary to form a new ' centralised and well disciplined All India Party , Samyvadi Sangha, which was capable of converting radicalism into a 'revolutionary radicalism'.
The Forward Bloc was the first step to organise a party with all the leftists working in India. But as the leftist were not agreeable to come under the same umbrella it wads decided that a 'left consolidation committee' might be formed keeping their individual identity and with equal power and prestige .
Left Consolidation could have been achieved , writes Subhas Chandra , " in either of the following ways,
i) By forming one party and rallying all the leftist elements therein. This however was not possible.
ii) By organising a new Bloc which all leftists and existing leftist parties would join , while retaining their separate identity , if they so desired.
iii) Under present circumstances a fresh attempt at left consolidation was made.

Forward Bloc "stood for demonstration , radicalism, and reorientation of the Congress " as H.V.Kamath points out , "into a people's will to freedom".
