Left Consolidation Committee - Bombay

Subhas Chandra had to undergo some hectic days from 1939 January to June, 1939 
1. Tripuri Presidential election - on 29 Jan 1939. He won by 1580/1375 votes i.e. about 200 votes.
2. Tripuri Congress Session - 10 March 1939, Subhas Chandra delivered a short but specific lecture from his Chair.
3. Congress Working Committee meeting held in Wardah on 22 Feb 1939 - He attended the meeting in his illness The famous Pant Resolution was passed after long discussion by a margin of 218/135 votes. Congress Socialist Party abstained from voting under the leadership of Jayaprakash Narayan.  

4. AICC meeting at Wellington Square on 29.4.1939 - He submitted resignation which was accepted and Rajendra Prasad was elected next President .  He formed the new Working Committee. 

5. Subhs Chandra declared formation of Forward Bloc on 3rd May, 1939.
6.  1st All India Conference of Forward Bloc - 22nd June, 1939 at Bombay.  The net outcome was thus the formation of a Left Consolidation Committee comprising of the Forward Bloc, The Congress Socialist Party, the Radical Democratic Party led by M.N.Roy and the National Front as the Communists called themselves. The Left Consolidation Committee was to have an equal number of representatives from the four constituents, CSP, Royists, CPI, and FB.
Previously, the Congress Socialist Party and Communist Party jointly tried to form a Left Consolidation Committee. But failed.
