Subhas Chandra and Simon Commission

The Indian Statutory Commission was a group of seven British Members of Parliament of United Kingdom that had been dispatched to India in 1928 to study constitutional reform in Britain's most important colonial dependency. It was commonly referred to as the Simon Commission after its chairman, Sir John Simon.
As soon as the members of the Simon Commission landed in Bombay port on 3rd Feb 1928, the people shouted slogans uttering, " Go Back, Simon," , aking Simon to go back.Hundreds and thousands of people showing black flags uttered that the people did not want them to come here.
Subhas Chandra thought that this anti-Simon movement to be raised to such a stage that the British authority had to bow down their head for good before the people of India.
For that he went to sabarmati Ashram to convince Mahatma Gandhi to take leadership in this huge movement. But gandhi refused all such requests and said that " he is not geeting any advice from the supreme God. and he is unable to take the leadership. "
Of course Gandhi could not be blamed for this because  Motilal Nehru (6 May 1861 – 6 February 1931) was an Indian lawyer, an activist of the Indian National Movement and an important leader of the Indian National Congress, who also served as the Congress President twice, 1919–1920 and 1928–1929. He was the founder patriarch of India's most powerful political family, the Nehru-Gandhi family.
A meeting all parties was held in Lucknau in 1928 which resolved the  prime object of India was to obtain a "Dominion Satatus,".
In that year Subhas Chandra in his presidential address in the Provincial conference of maharashtra held in Puna. reiterated this in activity of Gandhiji which ke could not follow .
The Calcutta Congress was held in the month of December 1928 where he became the G.O.C . His proposal for Complete Independence was defeated by a margin of 1350 to 973, But in the next year, 1929, Gandhi himself proposed the proposal of Complete Independence in Lahore congress.
On 28th Dec 1928, a conference was held in Calcutta where Subhas Chandra took the chair. He mentioned specially to the delegates the need for Military Discipline and asked ,
" it is good to know the expansion of the youth movement and of developing physical strength. "
he became President of Bangiya Provincial Congress Committeeand General secretary of AICC.and became president of AITUC in 1929 and retained the post upto 1931.
He conducted the team of the representative 0 council delegates in the conference in 1929.
In August 1929 he conductecd a rally of the political victims and observed Anti Political Victimisation day . He was arrested and jailed for nine months  RI from 23rd January. ( 3rd imprisonment)
In Sept 1929, Jatindranath Das was arrested in connection of Lahore Conspiracy case and was kept in Lahore jail. He went on hunger strike in protest against the misbehavior of the jail authorities and he died out of 63 days  fasting. Subhas Chandra conducted a rally carrying the dead body to show reverence to the martyr.
He presided over a political conference of workers of Howrah District Congress in that year and in the same month.
He delivered Presidential address to the Punjab Students' conference held in Lahore in 1929 and  .explained the beauties of Independence' which was different from Gandhiji's substance of Independence.
