Subhas formed the Bengal Swadeshi League - 1930

Subhas Chandra formed "The Bengal Swadeshi League" in Dec 1930. He became the President of the league, Lalit Mohan Das Vice-president,, Kiran Sankar Roy - General Secretary, and treasurer - Anandajee Haridas.The office address was at College Street.In the Research Wing; there were Dr. Pramatha Nath Bandyopadhyay, Naliniranjan sircar, Jitendranath Sengupta, Nalinaksha Sanyal, Dr. Suhrid Kumar Mitra, Dr Harish Cgandra Sinha was the secretary.
The aims and objects of the league were - expansion of Swadeshi in Bengal through coordination among the Business Man, Industrialists, Economist and National workers.
In 1931, an English bulletin was published from the Research Wing of the Swadeshi League.edited by Subhas chandra Bose. Seminars were organised to discuss about the import of Foreign specially UK product in Bengal, Madras, Bombay It was revealed that the amount of import of British goods had been diminishing day by day. So, the boycott movement became successful..
During intern Jatindra Mohan could not take oath as a mayor.of Calcutta Corporation, Subhas Chandra Bose was elected as a Mayor on 22nd Aug 1930.

This was to be noted that
Subhas Chandra  was in jail when he was elected as a Mayor of Calcutta Corporation. he was released on 23 rd Sept 1930 in the night from Alipore Jail.
In Aug 1929 Subhas Chandra was conducting a rally in South Calcutta. The aims of this rally was to sympathies the politically victim persons and he was convicted in Jan 1930 and was jailed for nine months RI.This was his 3rd imprisonment.
He took oath in the midst of joy and merrymaking and took the Chair as a Mayor . The whole of Calcutta was flooded with joy when Subhas Chandra took the chair.
Subhas Chandra went to north Bengal, the flood victim area, for relief work in January 1931.    While visiting at Maldah 144 CR  PC was promulgated preventing him to enter the district. But Subhas Chandra did not care the order of prevention and as a result he was arrested. ( This was his 4th Imprisonment)  In the judgement was imprisoned for a week of ordinary nature. He was jailed for one week simple imprisonment.
